5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

As promised in class on Sunday, a copy of the great, yet-to-be-tried-by-me 5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE Recipe!

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee Milo mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.

Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

For those avoiding Cocoa products during June, omit the 2 tablespoons of Cocoa, the 4 tablespoons of sugar, the 3 tablespoons of milk, the 3 tablespoons of oil, and the 3 tablespoons chocolate chips and replace with... er... um... OOOH, I know! Another 15 tablespoons of Flour! Well... it might work...!

I guess you had to be there!

EDIT:

OK, I tried it!

With a ridiculously large dollop of whipped cream, it wasn't too bad! The serve is HUGE so I didn't finish eating it (Wendy was strong, and could not be tempted!) Hey, it was worth it just to watch it emerge out of the mug!

Well, the only oil we had in the house was 20W40 SF CC Engine Oil... It gave the cake quite an "industrial" smell as it cooked, but at the two-minute mark the microwave oven burst into flames!

Quite disappointing really... I was very much looking forward to a nice bit of chocolate cake!
